DJI Mini 5 Pro Drone Fly More Combo (RC2) Summary

Now in its fifth generation, the DJI Mini 5 Pro Drone Fly More Combo (RC 2) takes the next-generation Mini 5 Pro aircraft and adds a set of accessories that make flying and filming out on location far more convenient. The combo includes the DJI RC 2 controller, which has a bright built-in display so you don’t need to use your phone to fly the drone.

As well as this you get three Intelligent Flight Batteries instead of one, a two-way charging hub, and a set of ND filters to help control exposure in brighter conditions. There are also spare propellers, a shoulder bag and more included, giving you all the drone accessories you need for extended flights even when you’re in remote locations or without power.

The Mini 5 Pro aircraft features a wealth of improvements for this generation. There’s a new 1-inch CMOS sensor, which captures 50MP stills and 4K/60 HDR video, with support for 4K/120 slow motion and up to 14 stops of dynamic range. DJI has also added a new 48mm medium telephoto mode for closer framing possibilities with better image quality than a digital zoom, alongside DJI’s portrait optimisation, which improves skin tones in environmental portraits.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Drone Fly More Combo (RC2) in More Detail

DJI RC 2 Controller

The DJI RC 2 is included with the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo, giving you a bright 5.5-inch Full HD display built directly into the controller. This means you don’t have to use your phone to fly, and the screen remains visible even in outdoor conditions, making setup faster and flights more convenient. The controller is lightweight and comfortable to hold, but inside it carries a new processor with improved CPU and GPU performance. The system feels quicker and smoother to operate, with apps and menus responding instantly so you can focus more on flying.

Video transmission has also been upgraded. DJI RC 2 works with the latest O4 system, supporting 2.4GHz, 5.1GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands for better resistance to interference. When paired with the Mini 5 Pro, this allows for crystal-clear video transmission with low latency at ranges up to 20 km in ideal conditions.

The controller also features a 2T4R antenna system, with two built-in and two external antennas. This setup doubles the number of transmitters and receivers compared to the earlier RC, boosting signal strength and reliability. The result is a smoother connection, improved control and added confidence in every flight.

Included Drone Accessories

Three DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Batteries are included, which provide up to 36 minutes of flight time each, in calm conditions. They slot into the supplied two-way charging hub, which can recharge all three in sequence and also top up your RC 2 controller or even a smartphone when needed.

To help control exposure in bright light, the combo also comes with a set of Mini 5 Pro ND Filters (ND8/32/128). These give you more flexibility with shutter speed, particularly for long exposure or cinematic motion blur when filming in sunny conditions. A set of spare Mini 5 Pro Propellers is also supplied, each tested for aerodynamic efficiency and quieter flight.

Everything fits into the shoulder bag, which is designed to hold the aircraft, controller, batteries and accessories securely. A USB-C data cable is also in the kit, which finishes off the bundle.

These accessories make the Fly More Combo a more complete solution, giving you longer flight sessions, better control over footage, and the convenience of carrying everything in one purpose made bag.

Go Big with Mini

The DJI Mini 5 Pro keeps its ultra-light, palm-sized foldable design that fits in a jacket pocket or backpack, weighing in at around 249.9 g ± 4 g. As it is C0-certified, it can be flown across most EU member states without extra requirements, though you should always check if you’re unsure. The aircraft features 42GB of internal storage, so you can save footage directly without needing to swap cards mid-flight.

Upgraded 1-Inch CMOS Sensor

A 50MP 1-inch CMOS sensor with f/1.8 aperture is the key update for this model, which provides far richer detail and cleaner low-light results compared to the Mini 4 Pro. It records up to 4K/60 HDR video with 14 stops of dynamic range in Auto mode (not available for slow-motion or Med-Tele shots). DJI’s new image-processing platform and algorithms preserve highlight and shadow details in tricky conditions such as sunsets and nightscapes.

A new 48mm Med-Tele option provides 2x zoom with higher resolution than digital zooms, whcih were found in older Mini drones, while portrait optimisation brightens skin tones in Normal colour mode (not supported in HLG or D-Log M).

Cinematic Results Despite the Mini Size

The camera records in a variety of formats to suit any project, including:

  • 4K/60 HDR
  • 4K/120 slow motion
  • 1080p/240 slow motion
  • 50MP stills

Video is encoded in H.265, with maximum ISO up to 12,800, while D-Log M and HLG modes are capped at ISO 3200, which is ideal for brighter urban night scenes.

Upgraded Gimbal and Vertical Shooting

The upgraded gimbal rotates through 225° and supports true vertical shooting for vertical social channels. You can move it manually or use QuickShot Rotate, Timelapse, Spotlight and Waypoint Flight. Vertical video is recorded natively, with no cropping required, so you can shoot skyscrapers, waterfalls or really tall subjects with footage that is ready for social media.

Improved Flight and Obstacle Sensing

Mini 5 Pro is safer than ever with a forward-facing LiDAR alongside front and rear fisheye cameras, plus sensors on the bottom and sides. Together these provide omnidirectional obstacle sensing for day and night flights. Nightscape sensing requires conditions above 1 lux with textured, diffusely reflective surfaces above 20% reflectivity (such as trees, walls or people). Reflective surfaces like water or snow may cause errors, and the vision system won’t work in dim environments or poor weather. Avoid strong winds above 12 m/s, rain, snow, lightning or fog, and do not attempt flights above 6000 m, in extreme temperatures below –10 °C or above 40 °C, or from moving objects.

The system also adds smarter RTH functions for DJI Mini 5 Pro. It can memorise flight paths in good lighting when light exceeds 10 lux and surfaces are textured with at least 20% reflectivity. Balcony take-off requires at least a 2 x 2 m area under 30 m high for safe return. In night flights, LiDAR helps detect obstacles like tall buildings and climbs to avoid them. Forward sensing is available only in Normal or Cine modes and during RTH.

Dual-band GNSS (L1 + L5) also improves stability and positioning in crowded environments, though magnetic and radio interference from routers, towers or high-voltage lines may still affect performance.

Upgraded ActiveTrack 360°

Tracking has been made more stable and customisable. The drone now recognises sports such as cycling and switches automatically between Cycling or Standard modes. Cycling mode reacts quickly to turns and accelerations, while Standard mode keeps steady altitude and distance. It tracks at up to 15 m/s in open environments, and can switch to rear tracking in complex areas to keep subjects framed. DJI recommends using ActiveTrack 360° in open areas and to take care in complex environments where Auto mode may not behave as expected.

Intelligent Modes

DJI has some of the most effective modes for tuning content in the market. These include MasterShots, which provides movement templates for portraits, close-ups and long-distance scenes. QuickShots include Rotate, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang and Asteroid. There’s also Free Panorama, which stitches together multiple images for stunning high resolution pano shots.

Off-State QuickTransfer

Through the DJI Fly app you can wake the drone remotely over Bluetooth, which remains active for 12 hours after power-off. Using Wi-Fi 6, transfer speeds reach up to 100 MB/s, though actual results vary depending on interference and conditions. Downloads continue in the background even when you switch apps.

dji-mini-5-pro-lifestyle-01

Stable Transmission and Extended Flight Time

Using the standard DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery the aircraft can reach up to 36 minutes of flight time (measured in calm conditions at 21.6 kph at sea level, until forced landing).

Charging three batteries takes around 115 minutes at 25 °C; times may be longer if ambient temperatures are higher or local mains voltage varies.

DJI O4+ transmission gives 20 km range in open conditions under FCC compliance, with stronger anti-interference. At altitude, the drone can fly up to 6000 m and ascend at 10 m/s, though flights above this are not supported.

NOTES:

  • All technical data was obtained in controlled test environments using production models. Results may differ depending on firmware, usage and flight conditions.
  • Nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing requires textured surfaces with at least 20% reflectivity and lighting above 1 lux. Performance may be affected by reflective surfaces (water, snow), dim environments or interference. Do not fly in strong winds above 12 m/s, heavy rain, snow, lightning, fog, or at altitudes above 6000 m. Do not take off from moving objects.
  • Flight path memorisation requires conditions above 10 lux, with textured, reflective surfaces nearby. Balcony take-off requires a clear 2 x 2 m area under 30 m high.
  • Forward obstacle sensing works only in Normal and Cine modes and during return-to-home. Intelligent functions do not use obstacle sensing.
  • Maximum 36-minute flight time measured with the standard Intelligent Flight Battery at 21.6 kph in calm conditions at sea level, until forced landing due to low voltage. The Intelligent Flight Battery Plus extends this to 52 minutes but is only available in selected regions.
  • DJI Mini 5 Pro weighs approximately 249.9 g ± 4 g. Weight may vary between batches. Always check local laws to confirm whether registration or certification is required.
  • O4+ video transmission range of 20 km was measured in an open, interference-free environment under FCC compliance. Actual range may vary.
  • Bluetooth connectivity remains active for up to 12 hours after shutdown, then deactivates automatically.
  • Always check local regulations, obtain required authorisations, and fly with caution to ensure safe operation.
