Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art Lens For L-Mount in More Detail
Outstanding optical quality fisheye lens
The 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye lens boasts an exceptionally wide 180° angle-of-view, combined with superior optical quality. Utilising advanced manufacturing technologies and rigorously tested with SIGMA’s own MTF measuring system, this lens for Lumix S, Leica L and Sigma cameras ensures outstanding quality throughout the entire frame.
High resolution wide open at f/1.4
Even when shooting wide open at f/1.4, the lens is capable of delivering high-resolution images with precise reproduction of bright light points across the entire frame. Its construction includes 21 glass elements in 15 groups, with 4 FLD and 3 SLD low dispersion elements effectively minimising sagittal coma flare and other aberrations. This meticulous optical design ensures that bright light points remain sharply defined at all apertures, making it perfect for astrophotography.

Feature-packed design
The Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye | Art lens includes professional features, which cater to both photographers and filmmakers. It includes an aperture ring on the barrel, with the option for automatic aperture control via the camera. The ring, characterised by its precise action, can also be de-clicked for smooth adjustments or locked to prevent accidental changes, ensuring the correct setting is maintained in any situation, day or night.
Reduced flare and ghosting
The 15mm f/1.4 lens is engineered by Sigma with advanced simulation technology to minimise flare and ghosting. This design approach has produced an ultra wide angle lens that excels in resisting these effects, ensuring clear and sharp images even in demanding backlit conditions.
Sigma’s proprietary Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to help reduce the effects of flare and ghosting, and the front element incorporates a water and oil repellant coating for easier cleaning and maintenance.

Rear gel filter holder
This lens is equipped with a rear filter holder, which allows for sheet-type filters to be attached. Astrophotographers often favour soft type filters, which render stars softer, larger, and brighter, though other sheet-type filters. A specially designed front lens cap accommodates these filters, featuring two slots for storing pre-cut sheets, allowing easy and constant access. Additionally, the cap is designed with a secure lock mechanism to ensure it stays firmly in place and doesn’t fall off accidentally while transporting the lens.
Lens heater retainer
At the front of the barrel is a Lens Heater Retainer, which helps to secure a heat strip, commonly used by astrophotographers in cold conditions to prevent the buildup of condensation on the lens’s front element.
Manual focus lock switch and AFL button
An MFL (Manual Focus Lock) switch is featured on the side of the barrel, which is particularly beneficial for astrophotographers. Once the lens is set to infinity, this switch can be used to disable the focus ring completely, ensuring any accidental knocks don’t alter the focus. Additionally, an AFL (Auto Focus Lock) button is incorporated into the barrel, which can be customised according to the camera and your personal preferences.

Detachable tripod socket
To address the front heavy design, which is common with ultra wide angle lenses, the Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art Lens comes with the TS-141 Tripod Socket. This accessory helps achieve a more balanced setup by aligning the mount closer to the lens’s centre of gravity when attached to a tripod.
Responsive high speed focus motor
With Sigma’s High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor the lens achieves faster, smoother, quieter, and more precise focusing compared to a stepping motor. It’s only the fourth Sigma lens to incorporate this cutting-edge HLA technology, providing exceptionally responsive focusing in various shooting scenarios.
Along with high-speed autofocus compatibility, the lens supports DMF and AF+MF, as well as featuring an inner focus system. L-Mount users benefit from the ability to adjust the lens to suit their style of shooting with linear / non linear focus support.

Expansive range of ultra wide angle Art Series lenses
The 15mm Fisheye joins a growing selection of ultra wide angle lenses for Leica L image makers. These include the Sigma 20mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for L Mount, 20mm F/1.4 DG DN Art Lens For L Mount and 24mm F/1.4 DG DN Art Lens For L Mount, all of which employ special features for astrophotography.
