Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens Silver Summary
This next generation Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens in Silver has been upgraded with improvements over the previous model, whilst still delivering impeccable image quality for Rangefinder camera users. A 35mm focal length is ideal for general purpose shooting and especially for weddings, street photography, portraits, landscapes and city.
The new Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 features a far closer minimum shooting distance, which helps to capture frame-filling subjects and dynamic compositions. Leica has also included an 11-bladed aperture for improved bokeh rendition. With the wide f/1.4 maximum aperture out of focus areas are creamy and smooth, with sharp details across the frame apparent even when wide open. The aperture also helps to gather light even in extremely low light situations, which is ideal for handheld shooting.
Together with these updated features you’ll find a new integrated rotating lens hood, which is useful to reduce incidental light as well as protect the front lens element from accidental damage. This Leica M lens is also available for Leica SL, T, and TL cameras when using the Leica M Adapter L, enabling more Leica system users to enjoy this classic.

Improvements to a classic focal length
This Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens in anodised silver is the next generation derived from a classic 35mm Summilux Spherical version of the same model, which first appeared back in 1960. Some of the most popular uses for this focal length are street photography, portrait and reportage. However this versatile focal width is not limited and can be use for weddings, travel, landscapes as well as city architectural shots.
High performance at any aperture
Even when shooting wide open, the Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens reveals outstanding performance over the entire focusing range, from infinity to minimum focus. It also demonstrates excellent contrast, even in the finest structures, with superb levels of detail across the entire frame. When stopped down to f/2 and onwards, the lens is almost entirely free from coma effects and optical performance is maintained from this aperture on.
The optical design of the Leica Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH. has also been optimised for use on digital Leica M models. It reveals the full extent of its outstanding performance particularly when mounted on a full format digital M body. The Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH. also delivers excellent results on analogue M film cameras and is destined to become an indispensable component of every system outfit.
