The Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for full-frame Sony cameras (FE) is capable of excellent image quality and benefits from a compact and lightweight 619g design. An apochromatic optical design (APO) renders well controlled images showing minimal chromatic aberration, purple fringing or ghosting, for less editing requirements.

The 2:1 magnification enables you to capture beautiful close-ups of insects, flowers or any other subjects in immense detail, and the 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro offers excellent low light performance from the f/2.8 wide maximum aperture. Sharpness is strong even when shooting wide open through to f/8 and f/11, which is ideal for macro work. Laowa designed the aperture with 13 blades, which renders silky smooth out of focus areas and rounded bokeh. At 90mm this f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens is also ideal for portraits and similar short telephoto subjects where sharpness and control over depth of field are desirable.

With 2x magnification at infinity more details of your subject are shown, perfect for capturing tiny insects, flowers and super close-up shots of all kinds. Lens magnification ranges from 0.1x to 2x while focusing as close as 20.5cm to infinity, with a maximum 2:1 ratio. This allows you to capture astonishing images and objects of different sizes more easily.

The apochromatic APO optical design ensures superb results from near to far, as well as throughout the aperture range and across all magnifications. This APO lens delivers:

Laowa created the 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens exclusively for mirrorless systems with a shorter flange distance, including this version for full-frame Sony mirrorless cameras. The 2x Ultra Macro APO weighs around 619g and measures approximately 120mm long, making it one of the most compact macros at this short telephoto focal width amongst all Sony lenses.

A 13 element design includes three extra-low dispersion elements, providing high optical quality with outstanding results from corner to corner of the image. Sharpness is perceptible even when wide open, right through to f/8 and even f/11 and the lens demonstrates great contrast and resolution.
