Fujifilm X-T30 III Mirrorless Camera Body Silver Summary

The third-generation Fujifilm X-T30 III Mirrorless Camera Body Silver continues the lineup by combining modern mirrorless technology with a beautiful vintage-inspired design. This stylish X mount camera is finished in a lighter, more refined silver tone, which combines the tactile charm of a classic film camera with advanced technology for today’s up and coming photographers and hybrid creators.

The X-T30 III employs the well-known 26.1-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the latest X-Processor 5. This combination brings significant improvements to autofocus, better colour accuracy, and much more responsive operation than before, while improving power efficiency to achieve up to 425 frames per charge. The advanced autofocus system uses deep-learning subject detection, tracking people, animals, birds, vehicles, insects, and drones with enhanced precision.

Despite being a photo-first hybrid camera, the X-T30 III records in 6.2K/30p and 4K/60p with 4:2:2 10-bit quality, giving content creators amazing tools for high-quality video production. Fujifilm has added a Film Simulation Dial, which provides instant access to signature colour profiles, including REALA ACE and NOSTALGIC Neg., while three custom slots allow you to store your own custom recipes for instant recall.

Fujifilm X-T30 III Mirrorless Camera Body Silver in More Detail

Vintage Inspired Styling

The Fujifilm X-T30 III combines classic styling with modern handling, taking design takes cues from vintage cameras and features tactile dials for adjusting exposure settings and Film Simulations directly, without the need for going into menus.

A high-resolution touchscreen LCD provides a clear view when composing and reviewing images, and the camera is available in three stylish colours including Black, Silver and Charcoal Silver, with a different look to suit your own personal preference. The centrally positioned viewfinder is positioned directly above the lens axis, which provides a natural feel when composing through the finder, and extends the vintage-inspired styling with a classic design.

Fujifilm also reshaped the hand grip, which provides a more secure, comfortable hold while keeping the camera compact enough for everyday carry.

Highly Capable Sensor and Processor

The Fujifilm X-T30 III features a 26.1 megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor paired with the X-Processor 5, which is the same combination found in higher-end models like the X-S20. The newer processor is twice as fast as the previous version and consumes about 20% less power. This helps to improve autofocus speed, subject detection and overall camera responsiveness.

The 26.1MP sensor has already proven itself across many Fujifilm cameras, and is capable of delivering excellent image quality, fast shooting speeds and excellent results for both stills and video content. The X-Processor 5 also refines colour rendering and white balance, producing more natural skin tones straight out of camera.

Superb Autofocus Performance

The X-T30 III uses Fujifilm’s fifth-generation autofocus algorithm, offering the same level of performance found in the flagship X-H2S. Predictive autofocus has been significantly improved, making it much better at following moving subjects and maintaining focus on smaller subjects within the frame.

The AF system uses deep learning to recognise and track a wide variety of subjects, including:

  • People (with eye and face detection)
  • Birds and Animals
  • Insects
  • Cars, motorcycles and bicycles
  • Trains, planes and drones

Human detection has also been upgraded, allowing the camera to recognise faces and eyes even when people are wearing glasses or masks, or when partially obscured by hair.

Portable Design for on-the-go creators

Despite packing a number of upgrades the X-T30 III is the same size and weight as the previous generation camera. It measures around 118.4mm x 82.8mm x 46.8mm and weighs only 378g, with a new Film Simulation dial replacing the previous drive dial on the top plate.

Film Simulation Modes with a Dedicated Dial

Two new Film Simulation modes have been added to the Mark III camera, for a total of 20 different Film Simulations that now include REALA ACE and NOSTALGIC Neg. The Film Simulation Dial enables instant access to several of these characterful colour profiles, and includes three dial positions to set your own exclusive FS (Film Simulation) recipes.

This allows you to ‘bake in’ your own defining style so that content looks consistent, exactly how you want it straight out of camera.

Additional styles include: PROVIA/STANDARD, Velvia/VIVID, ASTIA/SOFT, CLASSIC CHROME, PRO Neg. Hi, PRO Neg. Std, CLASSIC Neg., ETERNA/CINEMA, ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS, ACROS, ACROS+Ye Filter, ACROS+R Filter, ACROS+G Filter, MONOCHROME, MONOCHROME+Ye Filter, MONOCHROME+R Filter, MONOCHROME+G Filter, and SEPIA.

Intelligent Auto Shooting Mode

Fujifilm has introduced an Auto mode lever, which enables the camera to automatically select the best settings for optimal exposure based on the scene. It includes various scene types to suit different situations, with 15 types of scene presets for specific subjects or conditions such as Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Party, Flower etc.

When selecting Intelligent Auto modes users can also select Auto subject detection and let the camera match the mode to the subject.

Built-in Flash

A pop-up flash can automatically adjust the amount of light it emits to prevent background shadows and subject highlights, capturing both beautifully with ease. The flash is also capable of adding enough fill to light your subject in near complete darkness, expanding the versatility of the camera for day and night shooting sessions. The body also includes a hot shoe mount, which enables the use of dedicated higher-powered flash units.

Advanced Movie Capabilities

Despite being more of an entry-level option, the X-T30 III is a highly capable video camera and offers a variety of modes for brilliant video content creation. It records up to 6.2K/30p at 4:2:2 10-bit quality using the full sensor area, giving you more flexibility when cropping or reframing footage in post. The same AI-assisted subject detection technology found in flagship models like the X-H2S and GFX100 II is also available, ensuring reliable tracking for people, animals and moving subjects during moviemaking.

The camera also supports 4K/60p and 1080/240P high-speed recording for slow motion playback, while Full HD and 9:16 vertical formats are available for quick social media delivery. A Portrait Enhancer mode helps to refine skin tones directly in-camera, and Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS) with Boost mode can produce smoother handheld footage while recording.

Touch tracking is available via the LCD screen, which allows you to select a subject and keep it in focus as it moves around the scene. These features make the X-T30 III an excellent option for creators who want professional-looking content without needing to master the complexity of more advanced cinema cameras.
