Fujifilm X-E5 Mirrorless Camera Silver in More Detail
High-Resolution APS-C Sensor and X-Processor 5
At the heart of the Fujifilm X-E5 is a 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR APS-C format sensor and the X-Processor 5, which deliver exceptional resolution and image quality while keeping power consumption and heat to a minimum.
The back-illuminated sensor design improves light-gathering efficiency, with a low ISO 125 now offered as standard. With its compact form, the X-E5 is one of the most portable models to feature Fujifilm’s fifth-generation imaging pipeline, and the electronic shutter allows for precise exposure control down to 1/180,000 sec with the Electronic shutter, offering extensive versatility when shooting in very bright conditions or with wide-apertures.
Intelligent Autofocus with AI Subject Detection
Fujifilm’s Intelligent Hybrid AF (TTL contrast AF / TTL phase detection AF) system combines phase-detection and contrast-detection with deep learning AI subject detection. The camera tracks subjects including:
- people
- animals
- birds
- cars
- motorcycles
- bicycles
- airplanes
- trains
- insects
- drones
This provides the user with more confident focusing across a whole range of everyday subjects, which you might encounter. The AF system features more phase-detection pixels and covers almost the entire frame for precise focusing, even with moving subjects or in low light. A variety of tracking options are available, including Wide/Tracking AF, Zone AF and single point AF, with phase detection down to an impressive -7.0EV, which equates to extremely dark environments.

Creative Photography with Film Simulations
The X-E5 includes 20 of Fujifilm’s classic Film Simulation modes, which are accessible via a new precision-cut top-plate dial for fast access and user customisation. Users can create and save their own style recipes for consistent results across photo projects.
The complete list of Film Simulations in the X-E5 include:
- PROVIA/Standard
- Velvia/Vivid
- ASTIA/Soft
- Classic Chrome
- REALA ACE
- PRO Neg.Hi
- PRO Neg.Std
- Classic Neg.
- Nostalgic Neg.
- ETERNA/Cinema
- ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS
- ACROS
- ACROS + Ye Filter
- ACROS + R Filter
- ACROS + G Filter
- Black & White
- Black & White + Ye Filter
- Black & White + R Filter
- Black & White + G Filter
- Sepia
Additional photography modes include bracketing, panorama and pre-shot capture, which can record up to Approx. 20fps (1.29x crop) before and 135 frames after the shutter is pressed, so you never miss a moment.
A digital teleconverter has been added, which provides 1.4x and 2.0x zoom crops while maintaining good levels of image quality thanks to the high-resolution sensor.

Classic Rangefinder-Inspired Design
This is the first ever Fujifilm camera to feature a top-plate milled from a single piece of aluminium, combining clean lines with a premium finish and high rigidity. The 0.39-inch OLED EVF (Approx. 2.36 million dots) includes a new Classic Display mode, showing only essential information to mimic traditional film camera layouts.
There’s also a new Surround View mode, which overlays external frame lines, in order to create an OVF-like shooting experience. The tilting touchscreen is a 3.0 inch Tilt-Type Touch Screen Colour LCD Monitor, with Approx. 1.04 million dots. This flips up to 180° for more versatility with shooting angles and selfies, while a redesigned front control lever adds customisation and quick access to key tools.
The LCD offers familiar touch control, with gestures for operation and playback including pinch, swipe and double tap, that will feel intuitive to many users.
Video Recording and Vlogging Tools
The X-E5 supports high-quality video at up to 6.2K (16:9) at 30p, with Full HD recording at up to 240fps for dramatic slow motion effects. During video recording subject tracking AF is active, ensuring smooth and consistent focus even when recording rapidly moving subjects.
The compact body houses a redeveloped five-axis in-body stabilisation system, which is rated to 7.0 stops (centre) and 6.0 stops (periphery) which is ideal for handheld vlogging and content creation, even in darker conditions.

Battery, Buffer and File Formats
The Fujifilm X-E5 is powered by the ubiquitous NP-W126S lithium-ion battery, providing solid performance with approx. 300 frame battery life (400 in economy mode) for still images, plus USB-C recharging.
Image creators gain access to a wide variety of file formats, including JPEG, HEIF, RAW, and TIFF, to suit any workflow. The camera supports 14-bit RAW recording, and 10-bit 4:2:2 HEIF, allowing for a choice between file size and tonal range when needed.
Thanks to its high-speed buffer and fast X-Processor 5 engine, the X-E5 can capture:
- Over 1,000 JPEGs at up to 8fps with the mechanical shutter
- 79 compressed RAW files, or up to 56 lossless compressed RAWs depending on frame rate
- 20–30 RAW+JPEG combinations at full mechanical speeds
- At reduced burst rates (e.g. 3–5fps), users can capture up to 1000+ RAW files, offering immense flexibility when speed isn’t critical
These make sure that the X-E5 is a great option not only for individual shots but also for longer bursts to capture action, while giving creators plenty of options for editing and storage.
