Despite its point-and-shoot form factor, the GFX 100RF features the same second-generation 102MP CMOS II Sensor and X-Processor 5 found in the GFX 100S II, which provides exceptional resolution, colour accuracy, and dynamic range.

A rangefinder-style EVF is integrated into the newly designed compact body, combining Fujifilm’s classic styling with immersive functionality using familiar dials and levers. Notable design features include a new dedicated aspect ratio dial with nine selectable formats, a new surround view setting via the Q button, and a fixed 35mm medium format lens, offering a 28mm full-frame equivalent field of view.

This wide angle view is ideal for a variety of subjects such as landscapes, street photography, architecture, and portraits. Medium format image quality in a compact design

The GFX100RF brings the power of Fujifilm’s medium format system into a compact point-and-shoot design that comfortably fits into your jacket pocket. The camera is available in black and this silver, which both feature tactile controls and dials that exude retro-chic styling while maintaining the intuitive operation, which Fujifilm cameras are known for.

At its core, the GFX100RF features the latest GFX 102MP CMOS II Sensor and X Processor 5, which deliver exceptional stills and video quality with Fujifilm’s most advanced autofocus system to date. Users benefit not only from the 102MP medium format sensor, but also from a wide ISO range that starts with a base ISO 80 for stills, and 4K 30p video recording with a base ISO of 100.

The camera also supports wide dynamic range 4:2:2 10-bit recording in-camera, while its AI-driven autofocus system uses deep learning technology for advanced subject tracking and detection.

The medium format sensor is around 1.7x larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor, and features wide dynamic range and broad on-sensor phase detection AF coverage. This supports HEIF files, 10-bit video and exceptional colour rendition for both stills and video.

New 35mm fixed medium format lens

The camera allows you to enjoy the look of a 35mm medium format lens with the equivalent field of view of a wide angle 28mm lens in full-frame format. This focal width is well-suited to a wide variety of genres, including landscapephotography, architecture, reportageand street photography, environmental portraits, everyday snapshotsand travel.

Fujifilm developed a new lens especially for the GFX 100RF, and thoroughly revised and optimised the internal structure of the camera body. The optical design features 10 elements in 8 groups, which includes two aspherical lenses designed to reduce spherical aberration and field curvature, while delivering high resolution performance.

A newly developed Nano GI coating is optimised for lenses with significant curvature, which helps to suppress reflections even at the edges of the frame, ensuring the exceptional resolution that users expect from GFX Series equipment. With a minimum focus distance of 20cm, you can get close to your subject, and despite being a large format camera, its compact, lightweight design provides an intuitive handheld shooting experience.

For the first time in the GFX Series, the camera features a built-in 4-stop ND filter, ideal for wide-aperture shooting in bright conditions or achieving long-exposure effects with slow shutter speeds.

The lens benefits from a leaf shutter design, which enables high-speed flash sync with a compatible Fujifilm compatible flash unit at:

• 1/2500 second at f/5.6
• 1/4000 second at f/8 and above

High speed flash sync lets you freeze fast-moving action, even in bright sunlight, while maintaining creative control over depth of field at wider apertures.

For even greater versatility, the 35mm fixed lens includes a digital teleconverter, which is accessible via a dedicated front lever on the camera body. When shooting at 35mm (28mm equivalent), the entire sensor area is utilised, while activating the digital teleconverter crops the image to the following full-frame equivalents:

True Multi-format Image Selection

The Fujifilm GFX100RF allows users to capture images in nine different aspect ratios, which are selectable via a dedicated dial on the body. This enables instant format selection for creative freedom, including native 4:3, 3:2, 1:1 square, 17:6 panorama, and more, simply by rotating the command dial.

A new Surround View setting is also available. This is accessible via the Q button, and offers three viewing options including black, semi-transparent, and line overlays, providing greater flexibility in composition and framing.

Rangefinder-style viewfinder

The GFX 100RF includes a bright Rangefinder-style EVF with the following specifications for crystal clear framing and image review:

Newly adopted LCD monitor

Along with a high brightness EVF is a newly adopted 3.15-inch, 2.1 million-dot, two-axis tilt LCD monitor. This features a new user interface (UI), which provides an immersive shooting experience by aligning shooting icons to match the monitor’s 3:2 aspect ratio.

Additionally, a new Surround Viewfunction lets you see areas outside the shooting frame in a semi-transparent or line format, based on the aspect ratio. This can be quickly toggled using a lever while looking through the viewfinder, offering an OVF-like experience on an EVF, so you can stay aware of what’s happening outside the frame.

Compact and portable design

The new all-in-one compact design makes the GFX 100RF the smallest and lightest GFX camera to date, even surpassing the compact size and weight of the original GFX 50R with a GF 50mm lens, which weighs 1,110g. By comparison, the GFX 100RF weighs just 740g and measures 90.4mm high x 133mm wide x 70.2mm deep.

This is also Fujifilm’s first medium format camera to adopt a precisely machined aluminium top plate, and the same meticulous machining extends to components like the lens ring, dials, and bottom plate. This attention to materials enhances the feel of the metal and delivers a unified design that adds to the ownership experience.

20 Film Simulations Modes and ND filter

With a rich heritage in colour science Fujifilm has developed 20 Film Simulation Modes, which are all available in the GFX 100RF. This includes the REALA ACE recipe, which renders slightly reduced saturation and similar tonality to PRO Neg. Std for everyday shooting.

A digital ND filter is also available, which enables wider apertures or slower shutter speeds in bright daylight conditions.
