The release is compatible with Canon EOS cameras that have a 2.5mm E3-type remote terminal. A two-step shutter button enables half-press to focus and full-press to take a shot, while for long exposures there’s a lockable shutter release switch, which allows photographers to shoot in Bulb mode without holding the button down. This is particularly useful for capturing night sky images or light trails, where multi-minute exposures are required.
